Performances of Concrete Columns with Modular UHPC Permanent Formworks Under Axial Load

Abstract This research proposed the modular prefabricated permanent formwork system made of ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC). Two kinds shapes were designed: flat and ribbed. The experimental investigation on axial compression performance composite columns that consist normal strength (NSC) core UHPC was demonstrated. Compared with formwork, ribbed exhibited better bonding NSC core. As observed from test results, column presented a similar behavior as slight improvement in ultimate loads. Therefore, could be regarded additional cover to conventional column. In addition, finite element analysis (FEA) model also developed simulate numerically. predicted capacities agreed which validated numerical models. crack pattern estimated by FEA revealed interaction between inner introduced many tiny cracks However, protected overall durability can still enhanced.
